What is NAD+?
NAD+ is the oxidized form of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, a coenzyme found in every living cell. It carries electrons in redox reactions, switching between NAD+ and its reduced form, NADH. It is also used up by enzyme families such as sirtuins and PARPs. NAD+ is a dinucleotide, not a peptide.

NAD+ in laboratory research
NAD+ is a standard reagent in biochemistry. Laboratories use it in enzyme assays, in studies of cellular metabolism, and in work on NAD+-consuming enzymes. Its levels and turnover are also an active area of research into how cells change with age.
Related research compounds
- 5-Amino-1MQ is studied as an inhibitor of NNMT, an enzyme in nicotinamide metabolism.
- MOTS-C and SS-31 are peptides studied in mitochondrial research.
- Glutathione is another cellular redox molecule.
Available sizes: 100mg, 500mg and 1000mg
NAD+ is offered in three sizes: 100mg, 500mg and 1000mg (1g). Every size contains the same compound. The figure is the total amount of NAD+ supplied as a dry powder; it is not a concentration. A concentration only exists once a lab dissolves the powder, and it depends on how much solvent is used, so a larger size is not “stronger”, it simply holds more material. The 1000mg size holds ten times as much as the 100mg size.
