What is DSIP?
DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide, international name emideltide) is a nine-amino-acid peptide. It was isolated in 1977 by Schoenenberger and Monnier from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits in induced sleep, and was named for its reported effect on delta (slow-wave) sleep in those animals. Later research has been mixed, and its natural role in the body is still not well understood.
