What is GHK-Cu?
GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine (Gly-His-Lys). The GHK sequence binds copper strongly, and the complex occurs naturally in human plasma, saliva and urine. It was first isolated from human plasma albumin by Loren Pickart in 1973. In cosmetic ingredient labelling it appears under the INCI name Copper Tripeptide-1.

GHK-Cu in laboratory and cosmetic research
GHK-Cu is one of the most widely studied copper peptides. Published laboratory work has examined it in skin-cell (fibroblast) models, in relation to extracellular matrix proteins such as collagen, and in gene-expression analyses. It is also a frequent subject of cosmetic formulation research. These are areas of scientific investigation, not evidence that this product is safe or effective for any use in people or animals.
GHK-Cu compared with related peptides
- GHK Basic (Tripeptide-1) is the same tripeptide without copper.
- AHK-Cu is a different copper tripeptide, built on Ala-His-Lys.
- Pal-GHK is GHK with a palmitic acid chain attached, studied mainly in cosmetic formulation.
- GHK-Cu is also part of our BPC-157, TB-500 and GHK-Cu blend.
Available sizes: 50mg and 100mg
GHK-Cu is offered in two vial sizes, 50mg and 100mg. Both contain the same compound. The figure is the total amount of GHK-Cu in the vial, supplied as a dry powder; it is not a concentration. A concentration only exists once a lab or formulator dissolves the powder, and it depends on how much solvent is used, so the 100mg vial is not “stronger”, it simply holds twice as much material.
