What is Semax?
Semax is a synthetic peptide of seven amino acids (a heptapeptide) with the sequence Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro. It is built from residues 4–7 of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), extended with a Pro-Gly-Pro tail.

Semax compared with related peptides
- N-Acetyl Semax is a chemically modified (acetylated) form of Semax and a different compound.
- Selank is another short synthetic peptide developed in Russia and often researched alongside Semax.
Available sizes: 5mg to 25mg
Semax is offered in five vial sizes: 5mg, 10mg, 15mg, 20mg and 25mg. Every size contains the same compound. The figure is the total amount of peptide in the vial, supplied as a dry (lyophilised) powder; it is not a concentration. A concentration only exists once a lab dissolves the powder, and it depends on how much solvent is used, so a larger vial is not “stronger”, it simply holds more material. The 25mg vial holds five times as much as the 5mg vial.
